Serving on the Outvertising board as Co-Director of Intelligence has been an absolute honor for the past 2.5 years. During that time, I've been hugely impressed by our incredible progress in our mission to make UK marketing and advertising truly LGBTQIA+ inclusive. We've launched groundbreaking research initiatives, including the 2-year gestational baby that was Outvertising Consumer Report (and so many Sundays spent chatting about life and our work with Rodney Collins PhD and the Intelligence Outvocates team Tashan Nicholas Steve McGoldrick Rohit Talwar GLENN EBERT - Sunday Service!!) It has been so cool to see feedback that the report has encouraged businesses to embrace the full spectrum of their customer base. And to see it quoted recently in Andrew Tindall's viral post! I got to speak on the Amazon Ad Studios stage at ADWEEK Europe (opening for Simon Cowell… IYKYK), plus joining the stage with Outvocates and YouGov, Rodney, Anna McInally from the National Lottery, Pete Markey from Boots and many others. I was honoured by 🏳️⚧️Marty Davies calling me a 'powerhouse of an ally and a thoughtful voice of challenge' in the IPA's #iList I had the privilege of having Jonathan Palmer present at my old agency psLondon about LGBTQIA+ inclusion in marketing. I got to meet so many amazing people at our socials and events. And I got to work with some of the most interesting, accomplished, kind, welcoming and wonderful people I've met in London. I'm so fortunate to call y'all board members AND friends. I have always tried to be an active ally, but I found my voice as an ally thanks to the community at Outvertising, and my fellow board members' kindness and openness to help me learn and grow. I'm incredibly proud of the impact we've made together. To each and every one of you, my deepest gratitude. While my time on the board is coming to an end, my commitment to LGBTQIA+ inclusion and to Outvertising remains - and this is just 'see you later' - not goodbye… Thank you to the CEOs I've worked with: Mark Runacus MBE Lucy McKillop 🏳️⚧️Marty Davies Chris Dunne. To everyone I've listed/tagged... and to everyone I've missed! I'll be seeing you at Outvertising Live in November and I'm still very much involved as an Outvocate on the OCR's next iteration work (first picture is a sneak peek of something exciting that's incoming!). Outvertising is a force to be reckoned with, and I do not doubt that the future is bright. Making UK Marketing & Advertising 100% LGBTQIA+ inclusive is a BIG goal, but with their unwavering spirit, there's no one else I'd put my money on.

Calling all LGBTQIA+ folks in the LinkedIn universe – how about spending 10 mins of your day helping Pride in Leadership better understand the barriers facing queer people in the workplace for their upcoming report on the subject? The data available on LGBTQIA+ experiences in the workplace is still sparse. Some queer people thrive at work, some reach the top and then come out, others struggle at different stages. And we do not know the impact of intersectionality on leadership opportunities either. That's why we need your help. This research will inform and influence policies at all organisational levels, fostering environments where LGBTQIA+ individuals can thrive. You’ll be contributing to a vital resource that could drive evidence-based change, inspire organisational leaders, and pave the way for future generations of LGBTQIA+ professionals. Link in the comments – and put Tuesday 26th November in your diary for the Pride in Leadership Annual Conference in Manchester where the results will be revealed and debated. #LGBTQIAplus | #Leadership | Outvertising | Claire Ebrey | Anthony Leeds | Cassius Naylor | Ceri Parkes-Brincat | Daniel Sinclair | David Clasen MIPA | Jonathan Palmer | Kat Marshall | Katrina Urban | Lucy Rennie | Luke Millican | Mark Runacus MBE | Marc Allenby I Rodney Collins PhD | Sonnie S. | Tash Beecher | 🏳️⚧️Marty Davies | Lucy McKillop

🌈 SOCIAL ALERT! 🌈 Join us next Wednesday 4th September for our next monthly social! We'll be heading to Retro Bar from 6pm onwards as we ease into the 'back to school vibes' and catch up on our summers. This is a great low-key meet up if you've been thinking about joining us and want to meet a few folks first. It's super central, dog friendly, and we have seats reserved! Please note: It's not a step free facility. There are gender neutral toilets on the top floor (two flights of stairs). See you there! 🙌 https://lnkd.in/ePgqJP3g

Lovely to join the inimitable Lydia Amoah FRSA and Ndubuisi Uchea on the WARC podcast, to discuss the challenges and opportunities presented in marketing to diverse audiences. Please go and check out the excellent work they're doing at BACKLIGHT Inc and Word on the Curb respectively. For my part I spoke about the evolution of Pride marketing since 2014, our excellent Outvertising Consumer Report [https://lnkd.in/eANcQHbs], and the trick to avoiding pinkwashing (hint: don't talk the talk if you aren't walking the walk). A thousand thanks to Anna Hamill and the producers for hosting us and convening the conversation. Apple: https://lnkd.in/e3bjY8pS Spotify: https://lnkd.in/e7BBb8iA

Change is coming. But will the new Labour government be able to deliver it? 🌹 Writing for the final time as Joint CEO, 🏳️⚧️Marty Davies's latest Campaign UK article explores why the advertising industry is a growth engine for the UK, and the opportunity this presents for a government that is on determined path to unlock growth wherever it can find it. As Marty notes, "LGBTQIA+ inclusion is critical to the growth agenda". The data is clear in its conclusion that progressive advertising drives sales. So, as we enter an era of national renewal, both the industry and the government must work together to place inclusion at the heart of all efforts to deliver greater growth and turn around the nation's decline. 🌈 Check out the full piece 👉 https://lnkd.in/e32h7dUf #LGBTQIA #Labour #advertising #inclusion #growth

Over the weekend, some of the Outvertising team joined Trans+ History Week CIC and QueerAF in marching at London Trans+ Pride. It was a day where the community came together in a moment of love and solidarity in the fight for trans+ rights in the UK. At a time of rising hate and silence from brands, our voices must be louder than ever to ensure that inclusion, acceptance and love win out. #transpride #outvertising #inclusion
