One of our sites, Tees Valley, celebrates becoming a Dementia Friendly Hospital! This means that the team there are aware of and understand dementia so that people can be understood, respected and supported. The team worked hard to set out an action plan to achieve this status, getting a visit from Dementia Action Teesside who were satisfied on the actions committed to. Our team at Blakelands Hospital in Milton Keynes recently hosted newly elected Member of Parliament, Chris Curtis, on a tour of their facilities. Chris learnt about how patients in the local community could access diagnostic services alongside treatment in a variety of specialities including Orthopaedics, Gastroenterology, Urology, Ophthalmology and General Surgery. Following the visit, Chris spoke on how he valued the opportunity to deepen his understand on the provision of health services in the local community, particularly how NHS services were being provided free at the point use at Ramsay.
