We are delighted to have been able to contribute to this report by sharing our examples of both working with young people and our approach to DEI in the workplace.   Thank you Andrew Croydon and The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) for the opportunity to share. It’s great to hear young people are increasingly choosing careers in the industry and we hope to be able to support more young talent at Sobi in the near future.

When it comes to carbon footprint, here Sobi UK & RoI, we know that action and transparency is key. So as we celebrate #WorldEnvironmentDay, we are sharing our Carbon Reduction Plan, which outlines our emissions footprint, and our pledge to halve our footprint by 2030 and achieve net zero emissions by 2050. We are committed to playing our part in a global business committed to reducing its climate footprint. As well as our local activities, we play an active role in the Sobi Global Taskforce, which is dedicated to identifying mitigation activities, challenges and resources needed to reduce our carbon emissions. This important initiative has already led to increasing the share of renewable energy and reducing activities and processes with a high carbon impact. We understand we have a critical role in this long but important journey and we remain determined to take the action needed to reduce our emissions. Collaborate, inspire and work with integrity - this sums up the focus of our UK & Republic of Ireland affiliate meeting last week. The passion for the work we do, our ability and drive to be agile and flexible, and the commitment to cross functional collaboration was clear and will help us continue to support all those affected by the rare conditions we treat.  An excellent, engaging and fun meeting with our One Sobi team, demonstrated in a few feedback quotes from the team.. #raredisease #teamwork

🗣 The power of conversations and self-advocating has never been more important in healthcare – especially for those living with life-long conditions. Today, on #WorldHaemophiliaDay, we stand with the #haemophilia community, and those affected by all inherited bleeding disorders. We are committed to raising awareness of these conditions and support the World Federation of Hemophilia in their call for equitable access for all, regardless of type of disorder, gender, age, or location. We know that part of enabling access to the treatment and care each individual needs is ensuring people are supported to have open conversation about their #haemophilia care. We are delighted to share that we have signed The Pregnancy Loss Pledge via Miscarriage Association We have recently introduced a new policy covering employee rights, process and available support for employees going through pregnancy loss which enabled us to sign the pledge. You can read more about the pledge here: https://lnkd.in/dXYTeUsG ⁕Neonatal Leave⁕ We have also decided to join the small number of employers introducing a Neonatal Leave policy a year ahead of the law coming into effect in April 2025. Sobi has introduced enhanced pay for those on Neonatal Leave, to further support going through this difficult situation. #neonatalleave #pregnancyloss #employersupport

#InspireInclusion is the theme for #InternationalWomensDay 2024 so, as well as celebrating the fabulous women working at Sobi UK & RoI on this day, we are also committed to forging an inclusive work culture all year round. As well as supporting flexible working practices where possible, we support our employees and teams to challenge their thinking and tackle bias through a programme of inclusivity workshops. Like the #IWD team, we believe that everyone, everywhere can #InspireInclusion

It is estimated that 30% of the global population has chronic pain, but for adults with #haemophilia the rates are considerably higher, with over 50% reporting chronic pain in UK research. For #RareDisease day last week, our General Manager Sharon Hall appeared in the Guardian's Rare Disease Day supplement, talking about the need to continue the drive for equity of support for people living with haemophilia.
