How do you supercharge the ambitions of Gen Z entrepreneurs?
This month, children of our Priority Private clients learned world-class business skills at our inaugural Young Entrepreneur Programme in Singapore.
Developed in partnership with SC Ventures by Standard Chartered, our fintech investment and innovation arm, and INSEAD, a leading business school, the four-day entrepreneurship event is part of our programme of unique Global Experiences for Priority Private clients.
Beyond our clients as individuals, our programme’s inter-generational element extends to also benefit their families.
We welcomed 53 participants from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India and the UAE, who learnt the essential building blocks of entrepreneurial success.
What advice does Alex Manson, CEO of SC Ventures, have for the next generation of entrepreneurs?
1. Be curious
“Develop your intellectual curiosity with a commercial bias – and an emphasis on enjoyment. It’s pretty hard to compete and perform at things we don’t actually enjoy.”
2. Keep learning and reskilling
“Make lifelong learning and reskilling a real mission. I expect the shelf life of any acquired skills today to last for about 5 years, beyond which the pace of change is such that these skills may well have become obsolete.”
