How do you supercharge the ambitions of Gen Z entrepreneurs? This month, children of our Priority Private clients learned world-class business skills at our inaugural Young Entrepreneur Programme in Singapore. Developed in partnership with SC Ventures by Standard Chartered, our fintech investment and innovation arm, and INSEAD, a leading business school, the four-day entrepreneurship event is part of our programme of unique Global Experiences for Priority Private clients. Beyond our clients as individuals, our programme’s inter-generational element extends to also benefit their families. We welcomed 53 participants from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India and the UAE, who learnt the essential building blocks of entrepreneurial success. What advice does Alex Manson, CEO of SC Ventures, have for the next generation of entrepreneurs? 1. Be curious “Develop your intellectual curiosity with a commercial bias – and an emphasis on enjoyment. It’s pretty hard to compete and perform at things we don’t actually enjoy.” 2. Keep learning and reskilling “Make lifelong learning and reskilling a real mission. Tokenisation represents a fundamental shift in investor preferences, beyond just a passing trend. Demand for tokenised assets is expected to surge, with more buy-side firms planning to invest by 2024. The market for tokenised real-world assets is projected to grow significantly by 2034, with trade finance assets playing a major role. ⚡ Power for households in Türkiye – and jobs in the UK ⚡ We’ve announced a EUR249.09 million (equivalent to USD272 million) transaction that we arranged for Turkish renewables company Kalyon Enerji. The transaction was arranged in partnership with UK Export Finance to fund a project to construct and operate new solar power plants at seven sites across Türkiye – the second-largest such project in the country. British company UK Grid Solutions Ltd will supply and install critical equipment, supporting jobs at their site in Staffordshire.
