William Grant & Sons is an independent, family owned premium spirits company. When our founder William Grant established our company in 1887, he had a vision to make the best dram in the valley, and that vision stands true today as we build brands that are loved the world over. These include our eight core brands: Glenfiddich, Grant's, The Balvenie, Tullamore D.E.W., Drambuie, Hendrick's Gin, Sailor Jerry Rum and Monkey Shoulder. We have distilling and bottling operations in Scotland, Ireland, Iceland, India, the US and Mexico and a team of over 2,600 people at 48 global locations. We consistently win the industry’s top accolades, which are testament to the quality of our liquid, our dedication to our craft and the talent of our people. One hundred and thirty four years on, we are leaders in the international spirits industry and have ambitious plans for growth to ensure our business is sustainable for the long term. William Grant was a true pioneer. He worked with a close-knit team of talented and passionate people to create a legacy that endures and their spirit is very much at the heart of our culture today.

There are many things that make William Grant & Sons unique, and our two incredible working dogs Kevin and Toby are certainly up there. Trained to sniff off-notes or taints on the wood of the casks which may affect the quality of our precious spirits, the pair joined our team in 2022. Combined, the duo can sniff over 4,000 casks per day! And when they catch the scent they’ve been trained to detect, each have their own way of alerting their handlers. Toby likes to do a little tap dance, while Kevin prefers to get more vocal with a sing song. Both dogs work two 30-minute shifts a day, and after each round of sniffing they are rewarded with the ultimate prize – a good old game of fetch with their beloved tennis ball. With Kevin based in Dufftown, and Toby in Girvan, Scotland, together the pair respond to casks due to hold whiskies for Glenfiddich, The Balvenie and Grant’s. This innovative approach ensures that our whiskies are stored in the best quality casks, and it allows us to rest easy with the knowledge that our liquids are maturing, taking in the flavours of the cask, and developing into the rich, deep whisky for which they are known. As well as helping us craft the best dram in the valley, both Kevin and Toby are excellent team members, lifting morale for everyone around them and being a friend to those who visit. Thank you, Toby and Kevin, for all your hard work!

Where most people saw a blank construction fence, our team at Monkey Shoulder saw an opportunity! They recently took this four-metre high blank canvas and brought it to life. Over three weeks, artists from around the world were invited to infuse their own creative styles. The final piece was displayed in June and July in Taipei, Taiwan as part of a Monkey Shoulder pop-up event celebrating street art and culture.

Honouring half a century of craftsmanship, we are proud to launch the First Edition of The Balvenie Fifty Collection, exclusively at Harrods, London. The collection is a true celebration of the interwoven stories of craft at the Speyside distillery over the last 50 years. One of our rarest releases, The Balvenie Fifty Collection will see only 125 bottles released annually over the next three years. The First Edition is a unique single cask expression (cask number 8720), aged in a European oak refill butt, filled in 1973 and selected by Malt Master, Kelsey McKechnie. The Second Edition and Third Edition will launch in 2025 and 2026 respectively. The collection showcases the depth and complexity of the spirit. Influenced by the European oak cask while maintaining The Balvenie's classic sweet honey style, even after fifty years of maturation, this liquid is truly unique. A curious wonder of botanicals, craft and innovation lies behind the doors of the Hendrick’s Gin Palace. From glass houses full of plants and botanicals from around the world, to the Carter-head and Bennett copper pot stills that distil each and every drop of Hendrick’s Gin, the Gin Palace goes beyond the gin-making process and houses the world of creativity and curiosity that is Hendrick’s. Partnerships Manager at Career Ready. I help Career Ready support the social mobility of young people (age 15-18) across Scotland, by connecting students to employers who provide mentoring with a paid 4-week internship.
Well done to Career Ready students Cara-Louise and Duncan who completed a fantastic 4-week internship at William Grant & Sons in Dufftown, Moray, supported by brilliant mentors ian kirkbride and Russell Scott. Our Career Ready Moray Local Area Board member Henry Angus attended Cara-Louise and Duncan's end of internship presentations and shared the hands-on experience they both gained and contributed during their internship: 🗣 Student Duncan’s project involved installing a water pump outside one of the still houses. This meant he could combine his interest in electrical work and introduced him to engineering as well. He had to scope out the whole project, order the parts and conduct the installation. It was clear that he had worked hard and the pump is now proving it’s worth in the overall function of the plant. Cara-Louise was able to pursue her interest in architecture by working on some new designs of how to improve the aesthetic look of still house 2 which was built in 1971. Cara’s work with a local firm will have been of benefit to her as well as WM Grant. Her presentation was excellent with lots of photographs and a clear timeline for the ongoing work. It was a great pleasure to be at WM Grant and witness Cara-Louise and Duncan’s presentations. They were both excellent with two great mentors in Ian and Russell. 🗣 Thank you to everyone at William Grant & Sons - particularly ian kirkbride and Russell Scott, Lorna Laird, Gail Campbell Assoc CIPD, Stuart Watts and Stuart Maxwell for your support. Wildmoor, our newest premium whisky has launched in Taiwan, and to enter the market in style, our team set up a two-day exclusive ‘Wild Escape’ experience for media and whisky experts. During the visit, guests spent their time in the Wildmoor house, set amidst the lush greenery of Miaoli, a town renowned as the ‘Town of Mountains’. Here, they enjoyed a boutique ‘Wild Cooking Feast’, where dishes were paired with a Wildmoor whisky, and were guided through the inspiration behind each expression. Master Blender, Brian Kinsman, joined the event to unveil Wildmoor 21 Year Old Heather Valley, an exclusive expression created for the Taiwanese market, specially blended to resonate with Taiwanese food culture. Taiwan is known as the ‘Island of Mountains’, making it a fitting location for Wildmoor, a whisky that is rooted in nature and praised for its flavour and storytelling.
