The system was down broke down IKEA Wednesbury

The system was down, first patrol was sent to my home not breakdown…then disappeared on an emergency.
Second patrol called and decided it was too complicated and disappeared … App said on emergency.
Waited over 4 hours…
Third patrol Dal was brilliant can’t sing his praise enough!
Diagnosed , assured , shown how to get home avoiding motorway and he travelled in front of us to check we were good, then signed off and we carried on…

Called on land line

Called on land line, Call Centre didn't ask for a mobile number so no timeline link.
Call Centre did not register that we had urgent need to collect our special needs daughter, so we did not get priority service,
When we rang for an update told that engineer would arrive in four minutes, it was nearly a hour.
On the plus side engineer was nice, though the fault had cleared just before he arrived he tried to find the cause and suggested the possibilities.

58831 Jamie.

Jamie was amazing when attending my breakdown felt at ease and in the best care! He was prompt and informative making sure I was aware of everything he was doing and asking questions to make sure i was happy with what he was doing. He then followed me to our chosen garage and double checked everything before he left making sure we were 100% satisfied.

A reminder before one starts what one…

A reminder before one starts what one will need when filling out the application i.e. car registration and car details, debit card, mobile phone (as Barclays do a security check once details have been entered and send a secure number to ones mobile. It is important to be reminded to have ones mobile in readiness and ensure that the battery is charged!

Absolutely horrendous

Absolutely horrendous. Routine breakdown near a city. It's been over 12 hours and still waiting for anyone to show up. You have to chase for updates and get treated like a burden and not a customer. I'd recommend saving your money and just calling a local recovery provider. I'd sum up their service as something that makes you feel powerless.

Did not have to wait long for Alex…no

Did not have to wait long for Alex under a hour, unfortunately when he got there he could not get his van into the carpark I was in and had to came up 5 flights of stairs to me. Came and saw me had a chat as to what’s happened went back down to get bits he needed and returned sorted my car out with in minutes, very happy with service.

Poor customer service.

Set up an account, unable to access that account phone assistant said that account doesn't exist, still took money.

This is after they flat towed a classic car on salted roads instead of bringing the offered rollback/flatbed two years ago resulting in cancelling membership back then. Upon re trying their service. Things are just worse.

Worst breakdown cover I've ever had.

Disgraceful call center but excellent patrol service

The patrol was excellent and was friendly and professional, however the call centre experience was disgraceful. We felt they were there to trap us in to upgrading our cover. We were cut off several times and had to call back. The initial lady was extremely rude, and the third operator was the only one helpful, but my wife was already reduced to tears at this point.
Would give 5 star for the patrol guy, but 1 star for the call center, hence average score of 3.

The Patrolman was prompt, shame about reporting the breakdown!

The Patrolman was prompt, very helpful and understanding. 5 stars for him.
However ZERO stars for the manner of reporting the breakdown. If we cannot talk to a real human being instead of an obfuscating recording, we will not be renewing our membership !!!

Sharp sales techniques

Your sales technique is fundamentally dishonest and I wonder how many people 'buy' at your first quoted price - this is not unlike buying a second hand car or solar panels from very commission motivated sales people

Absolutely appalling service

Absolutely appalling service from RAC..Called in a breakdown at 09.45 and a Patrolman finally arrived at
15.45, a five and a half hour wait in pouring rain...Constant calls made to their landline which demanded a 20 minute queue waiting for the call to be answered whilst listening to constant adverts from RAC telling me how good a service they provide...Incompetent and mismanaged company who have far too few actual Patrolmen on the road to meet demands- result is a five hour wait, NEVER again will I renew with them...next year will be AA or Green Flag

Back on the road with bells on!

RAC got me back on the road ‘with bells on’, thank you! I completely understood why the RAC could not schedule me on the original date - I had a flat battery but was safe, at home with the car in the garage therefore not an emergency or a priority - and they did send a patrol for an agreed time the following morning. A new, fully guaranteed battery was fitted and an intermittent fault with the starter motor identified. I was given excellent advice which was later confirmed by my trusted and preferred garage (at TAWE MOT, Ystradgynlais) then my MOT carried out with a new Bosch starter motor fitted.

Amazing employee

What can I say! Andrew went above and beyond for me. We broke down during the most devastating time while my husband was in ICU. And he was out in under 30 mins and sorted the problem. A huge amount of stress was relieved during an extremely stressful time and I was able to get back up to the hospital and be with my husband.

Peter (64205) was excellent from when the call was logged. He contacted us to advise rough time of attending. He was spot on. The problem was quickly spotted and action taken. He was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Very happy with the service.

Arrived within an hour of my phone…

Arrived within an hour of my phone call. I received a phone call first to say he was on his way and would be about 15 minutes. Extremely pleasant and polite young gentleman with a sense of humour! Sean (patrol 64846) got straight down to getting my car started. The battery wouldn’t hold any charge so he followed me to the garage I had booked for the MOT in case. Went above and beyond and nothing was too much trouble. He also suggested a battery trickle charger to maintain the charge. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I would definitely recommend rac membership. Thank you

Terrific service!

The guy who attended to my puncture was very helpful, and even went as far as telling me about a mobile tyre fitter at the next services who could supply two new tyres. Very efficient service!

Good RAC experience

RAC turned up in just over an hour from calling them. Grant (patrol number 56075) was friendly and competent. He sorted out a temporary fix in 5 minutes, such that the car was driveable and I could take it to a garage the following day.

Thomas

Thomas, patrol ID 66262, was very professional in his manner. He arrived at the time he stated in his call en route and carried out the necessary work in a timely manner. He explained fully the procedure I needed to follow to ensure the car was road worthy.
