Police say an argument between two men resulted in a Remus resident intentionally hitting a Rosebush man in a Mount Pleasant shopping center parking lot.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (WJRT) - An altercation in a parking near Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant landed one man in a hospital and another in jail Thursday morning.

The Mount Pleasant Police Department says a Remus man intentionally hit another man from Rosebush with a truck around 9:20 a.m. on Independence Day in a parking lot in the 2100 block of Mission Street.

Police say the victim sustained a non-life-threatening head injury. He went to an area hospital for treatment, but his condition was not available Friday morning.

The Remus man, who police did not identify, remained on the scene to speak with police after the incident. He was arrested on a preliminary charge of felonious assault with a vehicle and was awaiting arraignment Friday.

Investigators believe the incident resulted from an argument that the two men had earlier Thursday morning. Anyone with information about the incident should call Mount Pleasant police at 989-779-9111.
