Two hospitalized after a car is hit by a train in Bridgeport Township

BRIDGEPORT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJRT) - Two people were hurt following a train crash Monday afternoon in Bridgeport Township.

Police responded at around 12:30 p.m. to Curtis Road near Dorwood in Bridgeport Township.

An SUV was struck by a train that was hauling tanker cars.

The train pushed the SUV about 100 feet down the track. Some of the railroad electrical components were taken out during the crash.

The two people were alert and talking when first responders arrived. They were both taken to the hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
