Authorities say a 42-year-old woman's body was found floating in the Saginaw River near Genesee Avenue on Wednesday.
SAGINAW, Mich. (WJRT) - The Saginaw County Sheriff's Department is investigating the discovery of woman's body in the Saginaw River.
An employee at a business near the river was on break and spotted the body not far from shore near the Genesee Avenue bridge around 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Saginaw Fire Department retrieved the body.
Authorities say the body was a 42-year-old woman from the area, but they could not say how she ended up in the river or how long she had been there. Her name has not been released pending notification of relatives.
Investigators are looking into her cause of death, but police believe there is no ongoing threat to the public.
