LAPEER COUNTY, Mich. (WJRT) - Three people, including two children, died Saturday evening in Lapeer County after a crash that left the vehicle in a creek.

According to the Lapeer County Sheriff's Office, a Buick Enclave was traveling east on Lippincott Road, east of Lake Nepessing Road, when it entered the other lane to pass a slower-moving vehicle. While passing, the Enclave departed the road to the left, struck the end of the guardrail and rolled over into a creek.

Police from multiple agencies jumped in the water to help rescue. Three people were located and freed from the vehicle by an officer from the City of Lapeer Police Department.

The driver of the Enclave was identified as 32-year-old Jenee Suddeth from Waterford. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A 12-year-old and a nine-year-old were both taken to McLaren Lapeer Region. The 12-year-old passed away shortly after arriving at the hospital. The nine-year-old died Sunday morning just before 6 a.m.

The road was closed for more than three hours for rescue, investigation and removing the vehicle from the water.

The crash remains under investigation.
