UAW members from the Big Three are continuing to vote on a tentative deal.

FLINT, Mich. (WJRT) - UAW members from the Big Three are continuing to vote on a tentative deal.

UAW Local 659 posted on Facebook that a majority of members at the GM Flint Engine Operations plan voted against the agreement.

Many UAW members have been voting yes on the agreement.

"There has never been a contract that I've seen that got voted in where everybody was happy," says UAW Local 598 member Dennis Saultman. "There have been some indifferences, but it depends on where you stand.”

Saultman adds that it didn't surprise him that many workers at the engine plant voted against the contract because of the number of legacy workers.

UAW members at the neighboring GM Flint Metal Center, North American Engineering & Tolling Center and the Flint Processing Center did vote in favor of the contract.

Saultman's Local 598 will vote on the contract on Thursday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Historically, we've never had a contract voted no unanimously and threw it back to the bargaining table if that tells you anything," says Saultman.

UAW President Shawn Fain took to Facebook on Wednesday, calling the agreement historic on many levels. He says that there will be other areas of focus for the next contract.
