Golfers participating in the Ally Challenge spoke about what Warwick Hills means to them.

GRAND BLANC, Mich. (WJRT) - Every year, The Ally Challenge brings out different types of players at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club.

"I love always coming to this area playing Warwick Hills," said 2020 Ally Challenge champion Jim Furyk.

The fairways of Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club are like a second home for many players. Especially Boo Weekley and Ally Challenge champion Jim Furyk, who has been playing in Grand Blanc since the Buick Open.

"It's unreal to be able to come back. I got to play one of my PGA Tour events was here my rookie year - played in back in 2001," said Weekley. "It's fun to come out and play with the guys I got to play with out on tour and be a part of it. It's like a family. And hopefully, I can come out and show how I can play and like how I used to play on tour."

As the tournament provides the opportunity for some of the best golfers in the world to compete, the Ally Challenge also reaches the community for more than just a 4-day event of golf.

"It's become this community-wide event. It's become this family event. I joked with my son, who is with me today, and it's his favorite week of the year, and I love to hear that. He's lucky enough to experience it with me, but to see all these families that come out to be a part of this event, having it be so much more than golf, has been a huge pride point for me," said the senior marketing director of Ally Financial, Jeff Cumberworth.

Vijay Singh will return to Warwick Hills to defend his crown this year. Also, eight-time PGA TOUR Champions winner Stephen Ames will be playing next month.
