MID-MICHIGAN (WJRT) - Slippery road conditions after a burst of snowfall Wednesday morning caused difficult driving conditions and several crashes around Mid-Michigan.

All lanes of eastbound I-69 were closed at the I-475 interchange in Flint after a crash involving a car that hit the median wall. The freeway reopened around 9:30 a.m.

Several more crashes were reported along I-75 in Gensee County between the Flint area and Clio. More crashes were reported between Birch Run and Bridgeport in Saginaw County.

One of the crashes on I-75 near Mt. Morris Road appeared to involved a Mt. Morris Township Fire Department truck. Only one lane of travel was open on the northbound side in that area.

Lanes were closed at multiple other locations along northbound and southbound I-75 due to other crashes. Police did not immediately report whether anyone was seriously injured in any of the crashes Wednesday morning.

The Genesee County 911 Communications Center reported 23 active crash scenes around the county at 8:30 a.m.

Authorities were reporting icy and slippery road conditions along more freeways in Mid-Michigan. Motorists should plan to drive slowly and plan extra time to reach their destinations.
