Almost Perfect Conference Table Power System

This is a specific product for a specific use case of allowing a group of people to recharge various devices with ease. Instead of hunting around under a conference table for some plugs, or drilling a circular hole for a couple of outlets, this sits neatly on top without being and eye sore. Additionally, it works great for me at my home office all by myself.Build Quality - This is obviously built very well. It has a nice sturdy base, good grippy feet and a nice heft that keeps it in place. The white exterior is understated and clean, exactly what you want a conference table. Although it is relatively small, it includes pretty much all the connections you might need. The attached cable is very robust and has a mostly flat plug as well as decent length to get you to the wall receptacle.Connectivity - 6 standard outlets two retractable USB-c cables, and two standard USB-C / A ports for a BYO cable. All of which works great. A glorified surge protector but it looks great and doesn't shuffle around on the table as you try to connect devices to it. All USB connections are appropriately balanced so even fully loaded a laptop, some phones and another device could easily charge at a good rate.Best Part - The retractable USB cables feel great. I don't feel like they are going to break of jam up. I have been using them daily here and there to charge various things and I have every confidence they will last a long time.Leftover Bits - It has a physical power switch underneath the base. Not the most convenient place but still nice. I do wish there was some kind of lightning connector or adapter included. I realized that connector is on its way out, but for the present it would be a good addition to an otherwise very thorough package. The top surface really looks like it should be a wireless charging pad. I find it strange that they didn't shoehorn one of those on here. That for me, would have made it perfect.Overall - If you added up all the parts that make this charging box, I don't know that they would end up equaling the price of this unit. However, the convenience may be worth it to some. Especially those that often gather around a table, low battery devices in hand. So I’ve had this for quite a bit and am having a hard time figuring out exactly what its intended use is. Sure, it’s a jack of all trades and has every port a whole bedroom would need, but lacks an identity.

The point of having a sleek power station with retractable cables and multiple ports is to eliminate the need for charging bricks and save space on a desk/table/nightstand. The point of having a bunch of wall plugs on a power strip is to consolidate the location of your electronics power source and clean up cables. But a power strip is meant to be concealed and a sleek power station is meant to blend into the open and be useful when it is needed. With this, you have an oversized power station with full size outlets that take up more space than is desired. Any cord plugs with large power supplies attached will find themselves unable to fit due to the surface this is sitting on being far too close to the sockets. The surface on the top is a waste of space and with a dozen millimeters added on top could probably have a wireless charger installed.

TL;DR: this serves the purpose of a power strip and charging station, but performs neither adequately due to its large size and contradictory design language. I don’t want wires and plugs sprouting out of it when it’s supposed to be on a space that’s accessible and I can’t conceal it or else I can’t use the retractable cords and usb outlets.

This really cleaned up the corner of the counter bar in the kitchen. No more numerous cables and cords hanging and flopping around everywhere. Used the front USBC port for my smart watch charger, the front USBC for the vape charger and the two retractable for phones, and they do fast charge the newest pixel 8 models woohoo. Freed up an outlet port for the vacuum cause i plugged the bar TV and the upright deep freezer into the Anker unit as well (vacuum cleaner would pull too much amps to be plugged into this unit if you have a powerful sweeper). I am Happy Happy. I agree with others it would've been nice to have the top part as a wireless charger pad but that would've raised the price considerably. All in all I'm very pleased. Now if it lasts a few years I'll be even happier. Thank you Anker!!!

P.S. another reviewer mentioned theirs cuts power to the 120v plugs when they put something on the USBC plug, mustve been a defective one, cause this was the first thing i tried, turned TV on and then plugged all kinds of stuff on the charging ports and it did not interrupt power to the 120v plugs, or any of the plugs for that matter. Had 2 pixel 8 pro on the retractable ones, the watch on the front one and a battery pack on the USBC one and nothing was interrupted regardless of what i plugged or unplugged. So if you get one that does that, rma it right away.

There is a sticker on top that tells you it does not have an inductive charge plat on top (apparently some people think the flat top is an induction charger), which I found hilarious. Recommended.
