Boston police probing possible gang links to teen deaths

BOSTON (AP) — Boston police are investigating whether the killings of five teenagers over the past 15 months were linked to gang activity.

City Police Commissioner William Evans told the Boston Herald that authorities are looking into any gang links to the killings in East Boston, including the fatal stabbing of a young man whose body was found on Christmas Eve.

Evans says detectives and state police are trying to find ties between the fatal stabbing, the death of a 16-year-old boy whose body was found Dec. 9 and three slayings linked to the MS-13 gang dating back to last year.

More than five dozen reputed MS-13 members were indicted in January. Authorities said gang members had been ordered to kill rival 18th Street gang members in East Boston and Chelsea.
