The anchor apparently called it quits after two decades of working at the station.

Kate Merrill, a morning anchor on WBZ-TV, has quit her job, according to a statement from the station that was first reported on by The Boston Globe.

“Kate has decided to move on from WBZ,” the company said in a statement provided to the Globe. “Thanks for the inquiry. We value our loyal viewers.”

The Globe reports that the company did not explain Merrill’s departure.

Merrill’s biography is no longer on the list of WBZ’s staffers. According to her LinkedIn page, she has been an anchor and reporter with WBZ-TV since 2004. Before that, she worked briefly as a reporter at WNBC-TV in New York and WKRN-TV in Tennessee.

Merrill had made no mention of her departure on social media as of midday Monday.

This is a developing story.
