Help Pay Shawn Thornton’s Fine…Sort Of

If you feel that the $2,820.52 fine that the NHL gave Bruins forward Shawn Thornton for squirting water at Montreal defenseman P.K. Subban from the bench during the final moments of Boston’s Game 5 win Saturday night is unjustified, you’re not alone.

The Harp, an establishment within, um, squirting distance of the TD Garden, is hosting a Game 6 viewing party Monday night, when the popular watering hole is hoping to raise enough money to pay Thornton’s fine for him.

OK, not really, all proceeds are going to the Shawn Thornton Foundation.

Monday’s event is free, but attendees can make donations both in person and online. More information at www.harpboston.com.
