Coach Nick Saban
“This is obviously a great win for our team. It seems that we’ve played some of our best football this year against the best teams that we’ve played. … It was a great field position game. I think the kicking game contributed to that tremendously. … [Quarterback] Joey [Harrington] had an outstanding day today. Sometimes the best plays you make are the ones you don’t. He threw the ball away, he didn’t force it. We didn’t have any turnovers.”

Defensive end Jason Taylor
“There is a rivalry here. It is a division game and [the Patriots] are a team that I consider one of the top two or three teams in the league. It’s great to get a shutout, period, in this league.”

Linebacker Zach Thomas
“It was one of those games. They had a couple of run plays against us, and we bent but didn’t break. We made big plays. To rattle Tom Brady, that is a good accomplishment for our defensive line. He’s the best in the business. We disguised a lot of different things.”

Linebacker Channing Crowder
“You could see Brady getting jittery feet. It was a smart decision to take him out. They’re playing for the rest of the season and don’t want him to get hurt. We were hitting him a lot more than they would have liked.”
