Patriots Today’s unsung hero: Isaiah Stanback By Albert Breer November 8, 2009 FacebookTwitterE-MailE-Mail5 The video above should tell you all you need to know about why Isaiah Stanback was one valuable member of the practice squad this week. Stanback was employed in a lot of the same spread-option looks at the Univ. of Washington that Dolphins QB Pat White was at West Virginia. So he was able to provide a scout team option that would give the Patriots defense a good look at a run/pass threat. He prepared the team both for Ronnie Brown as the Wildcat quarterback, and the unknown that manifested with White. “It’s his job description, until he has a bigger role on this team, is to give us that look,” Ty Warren said. The fact that he did that stuff in college, he’s a real athletic guy, so it’s the equivalent to having a White out there.”
