Woman, 19, from Pennsylvania is struck and killed by car in Cambridge

A Pennsylvania teenager was struck and killed by a car on Alewife Brook Parkway in Cambridge Monday evening, authorities said.

The 19-year-old pedestrian from Chambersburg, Pa., whose identity is being withheld pending the notification of her family, was struck by a Toyota Corolla around 7:40 p.m., State Police said. She was taken to Mount Auburn Hospital, where she died, according to State Police.

The Corolla was being driven by a 38-year-old Chelsea man, police said. Authorities have not said whether he will face charges.

State and local police, the Cambridge Fire Department, and Professional EMS responded to the scene near Terminal Road, State Police said.
