GB News: Simon McCoy apologises for ‘domestic’ with co-host
Simon McCoy recently joined Kirsty Gallacher for the GB News breakfast show in the latest schedule shake-up. The former BBC broadcaster rushed to his co-star's defence after a viewer hit out at Kirsty and urged the presenter to "loosen up".
It comes after Simon's former GB News co-star Alex Phillips revealed she will no longer present alongside the newsreader but instead will front her own show, The Afternoon Agenda, on the network.
After she shared a video of the duo together, Alex penned on Twitter: "Oh we had such fun @SimonMcCoyTV."
One viewer replied: "This to me was brilliant as a pairing. Though can understand they need a big name to carry the Breakfast Show, which he looks great on."
Another social media user agreed before taking issue with Kirsty on the GB News Breakfast Show.

The person in question wrote: "Agree. Although I wish Kirsty would loosen up a bit...
"I like her but she needs to be a bit more natural and have a laugh. Kirsty and Simon could be a good pairing but just need a bit more fun at breakfast."
In a follow-up post, the social media user added that Kirsty is a "great sports presenter" but questioned how well she and Simon had "gelled" on-screen.
Simon took the opportunity to hit back at the criticism as he praised Kirsty but added "it takes time".
In view of his 66,500 followers, he fired back: "We haven't worked together before. It always takes time - and she is fantastic."
Simon has since moved to GB News' Breakfast after the ex-BBC News stalwart hosted the afternoon slot alongside former politician Alex since the show launched two months ago.
Meanwhile, the broadcaster has praised the BBC in a candid tweet after he quit the corporation earlier this year after almost two decades.
Taking to the micro-blogging site yesterday, Simon praised the Beeb for their "amazing" coverage of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
