BBC Strictly's Dianne Buswell 'so proud' as she marks brave moment with co-star
Strictly Come Dancing pro Dianne Buswell has never been prouder of pal Amy Dowden as she returns to Strictly following a brutal cancer battle.
Strictly's Dianne Buswell has had personal experience of cancer after it was revealed her dad had the disease.
At the same time as the Aussie pro was taking to the stage, her much loved dad was underdoing chemotherapy. Dianne's close friend and co-star Amy Dowden was also receiving treatment last year for stage three breast cancer - and is now expected to make a full recovery.
Sharing photos of herself and Amy watching the latter's Cancer and Me documentary together, armed with popcorn, crisps and other tasty snacks, Dianne urged fans to view it. She wrote on Instagram: "Cannot describe how bloomin proud I am of this wonderful woman @amy_dowden what a documentary!" (sic)
She added: "You are so brave for showing the realness I and I am sure this is going to help so many others. I’m just so happy your back doing what you love beside us all." (sic)
Then Dianne urged fans to check out the emotional documentary for themselves, writing: "Make sure you give it a watch @bbciplayer Strictly Amy: Cancer and me." Grateful Amy responded in the comments with a heartfelt "Love you xxxx."

The support for her pal was clear in the photo, which featured a wall display spelling out the words "Proud of you", accented by two pink bows.
Amy was also inundated with support in the comments as fans shared their own experiences.
"Lost my best friends to breast cancer at 33, My auntie a year ago, and both my grand mothers. Not to mention countless others," one wrote, adding: "Saying I hate cancer is an understatement.
"It makes my heart sing that you beat it Amy and you are bringing something good to the world. I can not wait to see you back on the Strictly dance floor.

Another added she'd "cried so much" watching the documentary, sharing: "It’s going to be so so special having her back on that dancefloor in a few weeks. What a special friendship you two have!"
A third chimed in that she'd "always admired" the "beautiful" friendship Dianne and Amy share, explaining: "The last year has only enhanced my admiration.
"You are as pure as they get Di!! A friend you’d go a long way to find. What a special bond !! I’m so happy to see Amy getting back to that ballroom and feeling more ‘Amy’. Can’t wait to see you both dancing in a few little weeks," the fan concluded.
