Bargain Hunt: Presenter speechless over huge profit

Natasha Raskin Sharp is a regular on BBC Radio Scotland but the host was forced to miss her show after a recent clash. The Bargain Hunt expert took to Instagram and shared an update last week (August 23) and addressed why she was absent from her regular slot before announcing her radio replacement.

The antiques expert, who recently welcomed baby Jean in January with her husband Joe Sharp, a producer of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, made an announcement on the micro-blogging site.

She uploaded a photo while on set of fan favourite Bargain Hunt alongside her colleague Gary Pe and two show contestants.

It comes as Natasha had to film at the same time as her radio slot as they prepare for the new show episodes.

Natasha told her 20,000 followers: "A spot of @BBCBargainHunt-ing clashed with my weekly @BBCRadioScot show last night…but @ravirajsagoo stepped up to the plate and smashed it, as always. Check out the show on @BBCSounds - excellent playlist…thanks, Ravi! X"

BBC host Ravi Sagoo stepped in to front her radio show which airs on Thursdays from 10pm to 2pm.

Fans flocked to the comment section as one person said: "When are the new episodes airing? Fed up of old repeats!!"

Another shared: "Lovely to see you back on Bargain Hunt."

A third wrote: "Will look forward to watching the episodes when they’re aired. My lunchtime viewing."

The Bargain Hunt host is a renowned antiques expert and has become a household name in recent years.

The Scottish presenter first ventured into antiques following her studies in the History of Art at the University of Glasgow.

After becoming Head of Pictures at McTear's auction house in Glasgow, she went on to become a television presenter.

She revealed: "I was gently nudged in the direction of the antiques trade and auction houses by my dad, who thought that I'd be well-suited to the environment."

Despite her initial reluctance, she conceded: "Although I'd never normally admit it, he was absolutely right."

The art lover initially planned to follow her dad into the catering business.

She added: "My plan was always to follow in my parents' footsteps and open a restaurant.

"If I'm honest, I'm not ruling it out as a sideline...there's nothing quite like catering to keep you on your toes."

Bargain Hunt airs weekdays on BBC One at 12.15pm
