Jeremy Corbyn

Jeremy Corbyn is a former Labour leader and the Independent MP for Islington North.

Corbyn won the Labour leadership in September 2015 but led the party to one of its worst-ever election defeats in 2019. He stood down following this disastrous defeat and was replaced as Labour leader by in 2020. 

The Labour Party removed the whip from Corbyn following a row over alleged historic anti-Semitism in the party.

He was re-elected to his seat as an Independent MP in the 2024 General Election.
