Cook’s ‘easy’ 3-minute omelette recipe that tastes 'incredible’ only needs 4 ingredients
This easy, fail-proof omelette recipe can be whipped up in no time and amended with all your favourite toppings.
Eggs are a staple in most diets, with many of them eaten for breakfast and lunch whether they are fried, poached, boiled or scrambled.
Omelettes are another way to enjoy eggs, however, some find cooking them a little tricky.
Luckily, self-taught chef Jessica of recipe blog One Sweet Appetite has shared how an omelette can be made in just three minutes - and you don’t even need a pan.
For a “fuss-free” way to make an omelette, the expert recommends using your microwave.
She said: “Looking for a quick and easy breakfast idea? This easy microwave omelette takes under five minutes and tastes incredible! All you need are a few basic ingredients.”
Ingredients
Two large eggs
Salt and pepper, to taste
One tablespoon milk
Two tablespoons cheese
Two tablespoons to one quarter cup of additional toppings such as diced ham diced peppers, diced onion, or bacon (optional)
Method
Start by lightly misting a microwave-safe bowl with cooking spray and crack both eggs into the bowl.
Omelettes are best made with two large eggs which are the equivalent of one serving.

It’s best to use eggs that are at room temperature for a fried omelette, however this recipe does well with either warm or cold eggs.
Next season the eggs with salt and pepper before whisking in the milk until the eggs are blended.
Adding salt to your eggs is important, claimed Jessica as it “helps to make them tender and moist”.
Normally you do not add milk to eggs for an omelette, however, with this recipe, it is suggested to stir in at least one tablespoon as, much like the salt, it “helps keep the eggs moist and gives you a better-finished result”.
The next step is to sprinkle in the cheese and any other toppings you feel like using.
Microwave the eggs for about 30 seconds before removing them and giving them a stir.
Then microwave for an additional 30 seconds. Mix the egg mixture and repeat until the eggs are fully cooked.
Jessica said: “We find that this recipe typically takes three minutes to fully cook. Some microwaves will take less time, some will take more. Watch closely and check every 30 seconds.”
