Got a few spare lemons and clueless about what to do with them?
One savvy mum has taken to social media with a brilliant video demonstrating how you can use lemons to spruce up your home.
Fay Ricketts-Mahon, the Instagram sensation known as @homewithfay, is a fountain of knowledge on DIY, family activities, and excursions for her 47,800 followers. In one of her recent shares, she reveals the ingenious cleaning powers of lemons.
The mother-of-three kicks off her clip brandishing some lemons, announcing to her audience: "What I do with my lemons.."
Next, viewers see her slicing the lemons, then smearing toothpaste on the cut side and tossing it into her barren washing machine, setting it off on a cycle to deodorize it.

Her chopping board is the next recipient of the lemony magic, as Fay sprinkles it with bicarbonate of soda and scrubs it with lemon to banish stains and odours.
Then, it's the oven's turn; she places chopped lemons in a bowl of water and sets it inside to steam clean.
Her sink and plugholes are also treated to a lemon and bicarbonate of soda scrub-down to eliminate all the built-up dirt, followed by her kitchen hob, which she simply wipes with a lemon.
Fay doesn't stop there; she removes the rings from her stove and soaks them in a hot concoction of water, bicarbonate of soda, and lemons for a thorough cleanse. She even pops lemons into her dishwasher for that extra zestful freshness.
She captioned the post: "What do you do with your lemons?? Lemons are fab for freshening up your washing machine and dishwasher, when steamed in the oven they can lift grease marks, shining metal work on hobs and a great alternative than using sprays on chopping boards. Let me know what you use yours for?"
The post racked up more than 49,000 likes, with people loving the tips. One person exclaimed: "Lemon is the best cleaner," while another added: 'Good to know."
A third chimed in: "Great ideas. " While someone else added: "Great for limescale in the shower!"
Despite a lot of praise for the video, some people were worried about the cost, as one person moaned: "Lemons cost too much to use them as cleaning tools," while another agreed: "Lemons are so expensive now."
