Vinegar hack leaves bathroom sparkling clean in just 5 minutes uses three household items

Cleaning the bathroom can be an arduous task, but one TikTok user has come up with an ingenious way to make the chore quick and easy.

Carolina Mccauley has amassed a staggering 2.9million followers posting home hacks to make staying on top of household tasks simple. In a recent clip, she revealed combining white vinegar with dish soap can make bathrooms shine – and she claims it takes just five minutes.

Posting to the social network, she said: "How to clean your bathroom in five minutes. Grab a dish wand, fill 50/50 with vinegar and dish soap, clean super fast using only two ingredients.

"It’ll remove hard water stains and make everything shine again."

She captioned the clip, which has been liked thousands of times: "Speed-clean your bathroom with this genius dishwand trick: 50/50 vinegar and dish soap! Did you know about this game-changing cleaning hack?"

People were quick to comment on the time-saving trick. One person wrote: "I have to try this," while another chimed in: "Great idea using that sponge!”

Meanwhile a third vouched for the speedy hack. They wrote: "I do this."

However, others were not convinced by the trick. One person wrote: "Try it in a hard water place" while another wrote: "Depends on the size of the bathroom."

Another sceptic added: "But i think the smell is not good," followed by a laughing emoji.

While not everyone was a fan of the hack, even some professional cleaners swear by it. Alyssa Armstrong, who owns the business Alyssa’s Deep Cleaning Company in Michigan, previously recommended the vinegar and dish soap trick as a foolproof way of getting rid of pesky water marks, the Express previously reported.

"If you guys aren’t doing this shower cleaning hack, you’re missing out," she said in a TikTok video. "Take one of these dish wands and put dish soap and vinegar in it and then leave it in your shower.

"When you have your conditioner in, or a facemask use [the dish wand] to scrub down your shower and glass doors. Then rinse it off, it literally takes one minute."

Alyssa then recommended followers "take a squeegee…and squeegee your walls and your glass doors. This will help prevent hard water and soap scum, so you won’t have to deep clean your shower all the time."
