Whiten yellowing garments with 'natural' 35p kitchen item - it's not bleach or baking soda
White t-shirts and shirts can turn yellow due to deodorant, fabric softener, long-term storage and too much detergent.
There's nothing worse than opening your drawer, pulling out a white t-shirt and finding yellow stains under the armpits and around the neck.
Not only is the item unwearable but the stubborn stains can be especially tricky to remove.
With this in mind, Alex Econs, a garment cleaning expert and founder of ICON Printing has shared his advice for removing unpleasant yellow stains from white laundry.
According to Alex, if your garment is beginning to lose its brightness, or has become yellowed following heavy use, you can easily get it back to its sparkling self with a a 35p household staple - white vinegar.
Alex says: “To get your whites gleaming again, try a natural vinegar-based solution.

"Not only is this method gentle on the garment, but as vinegar is less toxic than bleach, it’s more eco-friendly too.
“To make the solution at home, mix half a teaspoon of washing powder with a quarter cup of white vinegar and a quarter cup of cool water.
"Apply this directly to stains, lightly brushing it into any affected areas and then wash the t-shirt right away.
“When it comes to drying your whites, if weather permits, always do so outside.
