5 'easy' ways to remove wrinkles from clothes without an iron - one method takes '10 mins'
The laundry expert claimed homeowners can use a damp towel, steam and a kettle to remove unsightly creases from clothes and bed linen.
If you do then you might want to make a note as it turns out that you don’t need an iron at all to remove wrinkles from clothes.
This is according to Jason Higgs, who is an expert at Bountii, who finds ways to save money while still getting things done.
He has shared his guide for alternatives to ironing out wrinkled clothes.
1. Make your own wrinkle spray
To make your own wrinkle-release spray, you can probably use ingredients that you already have at home.

Higgs said: “All you have to do is add a teaspoon of fabric softener or hair conditioner to boiled or distilled water and mix it up in a spray bottle - it's that easy!”
Then all you have to do is lightly mist the affected areas and then let the garment hang to dry for a few minutes. Just make sure to not overspray the item as you will be waiting longer for it to dry.
2. Get them in the bathroom
If you are going to take a shower, make sure to remember to hang your creased clothes on the back of the bathroom door so that they pick up the steam.
For best results, Higgs suggested that “you should make sure to have all doors and windows closed in the bathroom so that as much steam as possible can build up”.

3. Use a damp towel
All you need is a towel, water, and your hands. First, take your wrinkled item of clothing and lay it down on a hard, flat surface. Next, grab a towel that is big enough to cover the surface of your clothing and get it wet enough so that it is damp to the touch, but not dripping.
Then, gently lay the towel flat on the item of clothing and apply pressure with your hands to the wrinkled areas, straightening them out.
You can then hang the item to air dry and the wrinkles should disappear. Higgs noted that a paper towel works just as well if you can’t get your hands on a proper towel.
4. Use a kettle
If you love a cuppa and who doesn't, this technically means you’re not using energy to smooth out the wrinkles.
All you have to do is hang your item on a hanger and let it hang on a door frame. Then, when the kettle has reached boiling point, aim the spout steam at the clothing.
Higgs said: “You can do this by holding it below and letting the steam travel upwards towards the wrinkled areas, just make sure not to hold the kettle too close to the garment and wear heat-protective mitts so you don’t get burned.”
5. A damp dryer sheet
A quick solution is to lightly dampen a dryer sheet and put the wrinkled clothing into the dryer with the sheet. Set the dryer on a high heat level and let it go for just 10 minutes.
Although this method uses a bit of energy, the dryer only needs to be on for about 10 minutes for the wrinkle removal to take effect. This will save you much more energy than if you have to wash and dry the article of clothing again to get it crisp again.
Higgs advised: “The key to success with this method is to immediately remove the article of clothing after 10 minutes so that it is not sitting still in the dryer because that will cause wrinkles to form again.”
