A woman has gone viral after sharing her "genius" life hack for easily putting a new bin bag in your dustbin - but a number of people have pointed out a disgusting problem.

Out of all the boring chores we have to do, taking the bins out has to be up there as one of the worst. The smelly stench coming from the bag can sometimes be unbearable, and then you are left to spray down and add the new liner.

One woman insists you should put the entire roll of bags in your bin to make life easier. In a video, which has raked in more than one million views on TikTok, @_nourhan_sherif_ demonstrates dropping all of the bin bags into the bottom of the bin.

She places one around the top and shows how you can pull it out with all your rubbish in, and then pull a new one off the bottom - ready for your next load of garbage.

Nourhan said: "I can't believe I just discovered this! Watch me and thank me later." She added: "Throw the whole roll in the garbage."

One commenter said it was "genius", while another said the trick is "super cool".

However, thousands of people commented on the TikTok and pointed out that the method could lead to the bin bag breaking, or a leak that would leave the unused bags in a nasty state. "Some bags rip when pulling them apart," one comment said.

Another added: "It's all fun and games until there is a hole and there is water or garbage fluid and ruins the rest of the bags." "All the bags will smell," said a third.

One individual said the trick could work in other rooms instead of the kitchen, writing: "I feel like I would use this hack only for certain rooms. Wouldn't use in kitchen for fear of leaks."

Nourhan reacted to the comments and said she puts everything that could leak down the sink. "This way it causes no leak at all and no bad smell," she added.

Agreeing, another said: "Everyone saying 'what if it leaks' maybe just maybe don't put liquids in the trash? Put them down the sink."
