Reform UK's Richard Tice rejects truce pleas of ‘terrified’ Tory MPs
Richard Tice says Tory MPs are "terrified" of Reform UK's impact at the forthcoming general election.
He said many have pleaded for his party not to stand in marginal seats, repeating Nigel Farage’s 2019 truce.
However he said all Tory MPs should be held responsible for “broken Britain” and Reform UK will stand “in every single seat”.
Mr Tice also warned of high taxes, pro-EU policies and more costly net-zero policies if Labour won.
Mr Tice was unveiling his deputy, Ben Habib, as a candidate at the Wellingborough by-election.
Mr Tice was “confident” Mr Farage will play a role in supporting the party but the ex-leader would not show his hand “too early”.
Sir Keir Starmer will begin his election campaign today by saying: “The opportunity to shape our country’s future rests in your hands.
“And that is a new year message of hope: the hope of democracy, the power of the vote, and the potential for national renewal.”
The PM in the East Midlands will give an update on his five priorities and warn not to risk throwing away progress with Labour.
