David Gauke: How UK can block £1.7bn bill
BRITAIN can still block the EU’s attempt to clobber the UK with a backdated bill, a Treasury minister said yesterday.

David Gauke, Financial Secretary to the Treasury, said voting against the budget proposals would help derail Brussels brazen money grab.
Such a move was “a card we could play” before the December 1 deadline.
Mr Gauke told MPs that Britain could build a blocking minority with other countries unhappy with the top-up bill, such as Italy and the Netherlands.
