David Cameron insists he will stay in office regardless of referendum result
DAVID Cameron yesterday repeated his vow to remain in office if Britain votes to quit the European Union.

Mr Cameron told MPs he would stay at No 10 to negotiate the UK’s departure from the 28-nation bloc in the event of a “leave” majority in the referendum on June 23.

MPs have speculated he would be forced out of Downing Street in humiliation should he lose his referendum campaign to keep Britain in the EU.
But, when challenged over his position in the Commons by Ukip MP Douglas Carswell, he again insisted that he would stay.
Mr Carswell asked him: “If the British people vote to leave the EU, will the Prime Minister remain in office to implement their decision?”

There had been rumours that the PM would be forced to resign in the event of a Brexit
Mr Cameron replied simply: “Yes.”
A leading anti-Brussels campaigner urged Mr Cameron to clarify the sort of exit deal he would fight for if Britain voted to leave.

Richard Tice, of Leave.EU, said: “If David Cameron wants to remain Prime Minister after a leave vote, he needs to tell us what his negotiating position would be.
“It is a disgrace he is heading into the referendum with no plan for the UK after it leaves the EU.”
Some Eurosceptics believe Mr Cameron is refusing to raise doubts about his position to stop the referendum turning into a vote on his premiership.
