Fans on social media were quick to praise the decision, with one X user posting: "If I were Prince Harry's father, I would be so so proud of him and I would make sure he is always safe and secure.
"What this young man has achieved before the age of 40 would make any good parent really proud. Heck, I am so proud of him and I am not even related. Go Harry go!"
Another added: "Yeah!!!!!! This is EXCELLENT news!!!!! Go Prince Harry!! You are a living legend who is leaving an indelible mark in this world. You are an amazing leader and so inspirational! Your mother would be so proud of you!"
This news follows the recent revelation that Harry was not included in a book by Sandhurst of its 200 most notable alumni, even though his older brother Prince William did make the cut.
Critics hit back at the decision, arguing that Harry had a more distinguished military career than William, who wrote the book's foreword.
Although the Royal Family reportedly had no say in compiling the list, experts have speculated that Harry's claims in his book Spare, including explicit details of his tours in Afghanistan, may have convinced the military academy not to include him.
