Prince William 'offered olive branches to Prince Harry' after the late Queen’s death
Prince William and Prince Harry have had a turbulent relationship since the Duke of Sussex and Meghan Markle stepped away from the Royal Family.
Prince William extended multiple olive branches to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, despite their ongoing royal rift, a new book has claimed.
The Sussexes have repeatedly criticised William and Kate since they stepped back from their Royal Family duties, with relations between the two couples said to be virtually non-existent.
But a new royal book claims that after an emotional night at Buckingham Palace following the death of the late Queen, Prince William arranged the famous Windsor walkabout as a goodwill gesture towards his brother.
The new biography by Robert Hardman on King Charles III claims the move "was very much William's idea".
Quoting one of William’s advisors, Hardman wrote: "He had organised it in about two hours flat. He had been giving it a lot of thought and he said 'I know it’s awkward but isn’t it right in the context of my grandmother’s death?' I know he asked a couple of other people, too."

In addition, the book claims that the Prince of Wales made another "small gesture" towards Prince Harry the night before while he and Princess Kate dined with the Sussexes.
This happened when all members of the Royal Family gathered at the palace after the former monarch's coffin was taken there before being moved to Westminster Hall the next day for the lying in state.
Hardman wrote: "Inside the palace, all members of the Royal Family were there to welcome the Queen back to royal headquarters for the last time, followed by an informal supper.
"Afterwards, the Prince and Princess of Wales suggested that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex should attach their car to their police escort for the journey back to Windsor since they were all going the same way."
"It was only a small gesture (they would not be sharing a car) and nowhere near any sort of reconciliation. However, the late Queen would have approved."

Queen Elizabeth II's death occurred before Prince Harry and Meghan Markle released their controversial Netflix docuseries that made several allegations against the Firm. Both William and King Charles were criticised in the series.
When Harry's memoir Spare was published just weeks later, it took aim at Princess Kate. The book detailed tensions between the Princess of Wales and Meghan Markle before the Sussexes split from the Firm.
The book also detailed alleged brewing tensions between Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William.
