Prince Harry and Meghan Markle blasted over Nigeria trip
Prince Harry's stylish outfit during his recent trip to Nigeria with Meghan Markle shows a desire to move away from the "trappings of monarchy", according to an expert.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex took a trip to West Africa over the weekend to raise awareness for charitable causes.
Menswear expert Derek Guy was quick to notice the Duke's cool dress sense, which included an open beige jacket and white shirt.

- Prince Harry ‘stepped back in time’ for royal tour, says royal commentator
He wrote on X: "Prince Harry seemingly has no interest in clothes and dislikes the trappings of monarchy.
"IMO, this shows through his clothing choices (machine-made pick stitching along the lapel reveals this is a mid-tier ready-to-wear jacket)."
But I wish he would wear a different silhouette. Many of his outfits would be improved by a wider lapel, a higher rise, and better shaping. Compare these two cream linen suits. Heavier fabric, better shaping, and more classic proportions make the one on the right better, IMO pic.twitter.com/hCAz7O0o5u

Harry's linen jacket over a white buttoned down shirt perfectly suited the warm weather in West Africa.
Typically, British royals are seen favouring hand stitched Savile Row suits.
But the Duke went with “ready-to-wear” which may not be as refined, but it is more convenient, saving time.
A bespoke suit can take up to four to six weeks to make. In some cases, it can take even longer, depending on the tailor. UK-based King & Allen estimates a period of nine to 12 weeks from start to finish.

Newsweek’s Jack Royston goes over the specifics, saying: "Bespoke suits are cut from scratch to fit a client's unique sizing and hand sewn, usually by the same tailor that takes the measurements, whereas ‘made-to-measure’ suits are cut to preset patterns and then altered to fit a clients as closely as possible."
In 2023, Harry did wear a tailor made suit for the Coronation, turning to French designer Dior for a fresh look.
