Meghan Markle is known for wearing neutral colours, but when she was in Nigeria, she adapted to her surroundings, and opted for bold, vibrant attire.
On day two of the three-day visit, Meghan sat down with Arise News. She said: “It has been a whirlwind 24 hours since we arrived, and I very quickly got the memo that I need to wear more colour so I can fit in with you and your fashion.”
Journalist Jack Royston appeared on this week’s Royal Report saying the Sussexes are coming out of their “dark period” and entering a “new bold, happy positive era,” and Meghan’s “sunny” clothing choices help illustrate the transition.
According to Mr Royston, this seemed to mark a positive milestone for the Sussexes, hitting their professional stride.
Meghan started off the trip in a peach dress, and she received some criticism for not having it tailored, as the dress was dragging on the ground.

But, from there, she started to add vibrant colours to her wardrobe, like yellows, oranges and teal, and according to Meghan, she was advised to by Nigerian women she met during the visit.
Mr Royston says of the decision: "I think it is actually perfect for the whole kind of feel and vibe of the of the tour, which is like bright, happy, positive.
"This is all, I think, a kind of a peak in Harry and Meghan's journey.
"Out of the kind of dark era in which they were doing a lot of criticising the monarchy and into a kind of brave new bold, happy, positive era. And so the bright outfits go perfectly with that."
