Queen Camilla wears very rare £25million brooch with sentimental royal link
The Royal Family's jewellery collection features some of the world's most eye-catching jewels and Camilla wore a brooch with sentimental value this week.
The Royal Family’s jewellery collection features some of the world’s most eye-catching jewels with tremendous price tags, and Queen Camilla was spotted wearing a fabulous and eye-catching piece at the Buckingham Palace Garden Party to celebrate the creative industries.
The late Queen Elizabeth II was most famously known for wearing a variety of beautiful brooches, but since her passing, her jewels have been passed down to other members of the Firm.
On occasion, family members will wear the late Queen's pieces as they have sentimental venue.
On May 15, Camilla wore the Williamson Pink Diamond Brooch, one of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s most valuable treasures.
Mined in Tanzania at the Williamson mine by Canadian geologist, John Thoburn Williamson, the uncut 54.5 carat pink diamond in the brooch was given to Princess Elizabeth as a wedding gift and is worth a staggering £25million.

Maxwell Stone, the creative director of diamond experts, Steven Stone explained the value of the rock: "As a rough gem, the stone weighed 54.5 carats – the then Princess Elizabeth displayed it at St. James’s Palace ahead of her royal wedding to Prince Philip. She later turned to diamond cutters Briefel and Lemer to transform the rough diamond into a faceted gem."
Newspapers reported in October 1949 the late royal was having trouble deciding how the diamond should be used: "At first the Princess thought it might be fitted into her personal crown, but experts considered it might lose its glory among so many other jewels."
Maxwell added that pink diamonds are "one of the rarest" in the world, and this brooch was the late Queen's second most valuable in her collection. The Cullinan III and IV brooch boasts a huge value of £50million.
Queen Elizabeth’s jewellery collection featured some of the world’s most eye-catching jewels; from huge, flawless diamonds to magnificent rubies, sapphires, and pearls. While earrings and necklaces normally take centre stage, the late Queen was most famously known for wearing a variety of beautiful brooches.

The late Queen was said to own more than 100 brooches, sometimes leant to other royal women, with observers able to guess what Her Majesty was thinking depending on which brooch she would choose to wear for a specific occasion.
The particular brooch she chose, generally worn on the left, often indicated a connection with the person, country or organisation she was visiting.
It could also suggest the memory of someone close to her, with the "royal brooch code" now being embraced by the younger royals as they pay tribute to her with their own jewellery choices.
For Queen Elizabeth's funeral on September 19 2022, many of the royal women wore jewellery from Her Majesty's personal collection in tribute. Queen Camilla wore the Hesse Diamond Jubilee Brooch, originally given to Queen Victoria by her eight grandchildren to mark her Diamond Jubilee on June 22, 1897.
