John Lewis is a one-stop shop for stylish womenswear and one brand the retailer stocks that shoppers can't get enough of is Mint Velvet. The British brand has been worn by the likes of the Princess of Wales and Amanda Holden, thanks to the high quality and trend-led designs.

Mint Velvet have a number of wardrobe staples that can work hard year-round and John Lewis have reduced some of these online for a limited time. These Mint Velvet Tailored Trousers have been slashed from £109 to £69, saving shoppers £40 on the 'lovely' trousers.

Their versatile design means they can be paired with all kinds of outfits and would look incredibly chic with a white tshirt. Shoppers can choose from black or khaki, both with the same discount, and they come in sizes extra-small to extra-large.

The tailored trousers are incredibly flattering and will elongate your legs when worn. Stylish as well as practical, they are designed with several pockets - not only useful but a trendy feature that adds to the finished look.

Shoppers have left multiple reviews on the John Lewis website, highlighting how impressed they are with the Mint Velvet buy. One person said: "These are lovely trousers and have a quality look / feel. Look really smart for work or can be more casual and worn with pumps. Worth the investment."

Another person commented: "Lovely fit, good quality, good for dressing up or down." And a third wrote: "Great cargo pants, felt lovely on. Love the swish when you walk!"

However, these might not be best suited if you have a petite frame. One person noted: "The weight of this trousers was surprisingly; a bit heavy. On the other hand, it hangs beautifully. I have to shorten it but I am still very pleased with it."

For a similar pair of trousers that specifically cater to shorter legs, consider these Crepe Tab Detail Wide Leg Trousers from Marks and Spencer for £39.50. Princess Kate is also a fan of clothing brand Boden and they are currently running a sale with up to 70% off womenswear here.
