Prince Andrew was named the "laziest" member of the Royal Family as another one of his relatives was crowned the "hardest-working" one.

The Duke of York, 64, is no longer a working royal but continues to step out at private royal events, such as Christmas and Easter.

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told the Sun's Royal Exclusive show that she believes the disgraced duke to be the "laziest" member of the Firm.

But she added that his older sister, Princess Anne, is "undoubtedly" the most hard-working one.

She said: "She's [Princess Anne] astonishing, absolutely astonishing.

"She's quite difficult to work with but she gets it done."

It comes as the Princess Royal was once again crowned the Firm's hardest-working royal after attending the most engagements last year, while also stepping up during her brother, King Charles's, cancer ordeal throughout the first few months of 2024.

In 2023, the late Queen Elizabeth's eldest daughter carried out 457 engagements in total, while the monarch himself attended 425, according to the Sunday Telegraph.

Anne was praised earlier this year after she was the first royal to go on tour and was labelled "invaluable" to King Charles.

Back in March, she even travelled more than 100 miles to carry out four royal visits within nine hours.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told Express.co.uk that the Princess Royal embodies what the British public most admire in a working royal.

He said: "Princess Anne is an example of what the public most admire in a working royal, she is dedicated, conscientious and prefers a low profile and no fuss.

"She also tends to be the hardest-working member of the royal family. With only four working royals under 70, she is invaluable to King Charles."
