Meghan Markle's latest business move will see the Royal Family breathe a "huge sigh of relief", commentators have claimed.
The Duchess of Sussex recently launched her American Riviera Orchard lifestyle brand and has initially focused on creatin artisan jam. The announcement was made on Instagram, before 50 jars of luxury jam were sent to Meghan's high-profile pals to share on social media.
But the move is in stark contrast of what was previously expected among royal commentators – that Meghan would be releasing a "tell-all" royal book.
And Australian Women's Weekly writer Emma Clifton suggested American Riviera Orchard will have gone down well with the royals.
Celebrity publicist Waylon Tate believes it has been marketed as very much Meghan's own brand instead of a joint venture with Prince Harry – as previous Netflix and Spotify deals have been.
Tate told Australian's Woman Weekly: "What I've seen so far, although she's been pretty clandestine about it everything surrounding this new brand, is that it's Meghan and it's Meghan alone. You can even see it on Instagram. It's not Meghan and Harry - it's by Meghan.
"This is the emancipation of Meghan. It's her saying, 'I'm a smart, savvy businesswoman. And here's an introduction to my family on my terms'."
She wrote: "Considering how much anticipation there was for Meghan's supposed 'tell-all-novel', her pivot into domestic goddess should surely mean there are a few sighs of relief around the palace...for now."
Harry, who released his own memoir Spare in 2021, is said to have blocked the move. And PR expert Mayah Riaz told The Daily Mirror it was a "prudent" move.

She said: "If it is true that Prince Harry has 'blocked' Meghan from writing a memoir, this seems to be a prudent move in their efforts to build bridges with the Royal Family.
"It suggests that Harry intends to avoid further controversy and maintain a more positive relationship with his family."
The next move from Meghan's brand appeared to be dog biscuits, with Harry's close friend Nacho Figueras unveiling a stylishly labelled glass container of treats.
There has however been no official confirmation yet as to when American Riviera Orchard products will actually launch, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the chance to grab their own.
