Princess Kate decided to make an extraordinary move to protect her children after observing the negative impact media scrutiny had on Prince William's upbringing, it has emerged.

The Princess of Wales decided to become the main photographer in the Royal Family and by personally taking and releasing photos of her children she aimed to mitigate the potential harm and maintain a level of control over their public exposure, it has been claimed.

Most recently, she showed off her photo talents when she released a touching birthday image of the future King jumping on the sand dunes with Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, six.

According to the Channel 5 documentary, 'Kate: A Queen for the Future', as reported in OK! Magazine, Kate saw Prince William "damaged".

Journalist Afua Hagan explained: "The Princess of Wales understands who she is, the position that she's in. She also understands the interest in her family, especially her children, that people want to see them growing up. So she understands that the press needs these pictures."

She added: "The Princess of Wales has seen first hand through her husband, Prince William, the damage that the press has done to his life and so she's realised that if she can do something about that, if she can take control, then she should do that."

Afua explained the move was "unprecedented" for the Royal Family, as media coverage has always been a part of life within the monarchy, and something Prince William has dealt with from birth.

Royal Commentator‌, Ingrid Seward, added the Princess of Wales is the "main photographer of the family" and by doing this, the children wouldn't have to go through the "trauma" of having to pose for somebody they didn't know.

Prince William 'spicing things up' as Royal Family's latest new strategy is paying off

Prince William's "sensitive" new strategy for royal engagements is "the right model for the future", according to a Royal Family expert.

Jennie Bond has told OK! magazine: "I still hold to the idea that the slimmed down Royal Family is indeed the right model for the future...

"I think the model William has experimented with is the answer: drafting in his cousins here and there (e.g. garden parties) to spice things up a bit."

According to the Sun, the birth certificate was altered to show his mother as "Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex" instead of the original "Rachel Meghan".

The publication at the time reported that this was a "snub" to Prince William and Princess Kate, who used Kate's names on their children's certificates.

Dresser to the Queen, Jacqui Meakin, has slowly released her grip on who can wear the colour blue at the same time as Queen Camilla - but it must be a very different shade, a source claims.

The source tells Express.co.uk that the colour blue is particularly problematic for the senior royals' dressers because it’s a favourite of both Queen Camilla, 76, who was once named the second-best-dressed royal, and Kate, the Princess of Wales, 42.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Canada trip could lead to Commonwealth crisis

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s trip to Canada for the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 could lead to a Commonwealth crisis, senior aides fear.

According to a well-placed source, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s comments in the past about their concerns for the association of 56 member states has triggered a number of discussions inside Palace walls about how best to handle the Sussexes’ link to Canada.

“Harry and Meghan haven’t exactly been very supportive in the past,” the source said.

“This trip [to Vancouver in February, 2025] has been flagged as of great importance over fears that any negative sentiments made about the union during their visit could jeopardise the Commonwealth.

“It’s even been discussed that it might be beneficial to get Harry and Meghan back on side in case there are any incidents that occur while they are promoting the Invictus Games.”

Reason why Zara Tindall doesn't have a royal title - and if she will she ever get one

Zara Tindall is a beloved member of the Royal Family, however, she does not bear a royal title and the reason behind it is quite simple - it's all down to tradition.

Princess Anne's daughter, as well as her brother, Peter Phillips, are both grandchildren of the late Queen Elizabeth, just like their cousins, Prince William, Prince Harry, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

Unlike them, Zara and Peter were not automatically given HRH titles upon their birth because their father, Captain Mark Phillips, was not a prince.

According to the rules, only the children and grandchildren of the monarch's sons and the children of the eldest son of the Prince of Wales can automatically inherit HRH titles.

'Mortified' Princess Kate reveals Michael Middleton's hilarious two-word Wimbledon blunder

Princess Kate's parents Carole and Michael Middleton have already been spotted at Wimbledon this year, as like the Royal Family they are huge fans of tennis.

In the past, Kate has attended with her family, as her siblings Pippa and James can also be seen taking in a game from the Royal Box.

But back in 2017, Kate revealed Michael had mistakenly identified one of the UK's most famous players with just two words in a seriously mortifying moment.

She spoke about it on the BBC documentary Our Wimbledon, presented by Sue Barker: "My father is not going to appreciate this, but we were walking past Tim Henman and we had just seen [Pete] Sampras play. My dad said very coolly: 'Hi Pete'. I was mortified!"

Prince Harry has been made substantially richer thanks to the success of his memoir Spare, claims presenter and fellow bestselling author Richard Osman.

The Duke of Sussex made headlines around the world when his controversial book was revealed in January 2023, as it told the story of his experiences in the Royal Family, which he eventually left with his wife Meghan Markle in 2020.

It may not have been popular with fans of the Firm, but Spare became the fastest-selling non-fiction book ever when it was published by Penguin Random House.

Harry is understood to have received a £16 million ($20 million) advance for his memoir as part of a four-book deal worth £32 million ($40 million) which was signed in June 2021.

Late Queen revealed her major concern about Prince Harry's relationship in six-word swipe

The late Queen Elizabeth II expressed words of concern during the early stages of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's relationship, a royal author has claimed.

Gyles Brandreth, also a close confidant of the senior royals, has disclosed how the late Queen was genuinely delighted with Prince Harry's choice of wife, and had high hopes for the contribution the American actress could make to public service.

However, as a number of staff left the Sussexes’ service as claims of bullying came to light, denied by the Duchess’ legal team, the late Queen expressed her worries about the effect on her grandson.

Gyles writes in his book 'Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait', that Queen Elizabeth let slip if Harry wasn't "perhaps a little over-in-love".
