The UK city with the worst air quality revealed - and it's not London
On the flip side, Scotland's capital of Edinburgh was named as the least polluted city in the UK.
The popular UK city with the worst air quality has been revealed - and surprisingly it's not the capital of London.
InsureMy analysed air quality data from 14 major cities in the UK from January 2024 and going back to 2017. The data took into account factors including dust, sort, dirt and smoke.
The data marked Edinburgh in Scotland as the least polluted city with the cleanest air, closely followed by Glasgow.
At the bottom of the list, Manchester came in as the most polluted city at number 14, while London came in at number 11.
Belfast and Bristol took 12th and 13th place respectively. But, it's not all bad news, with all UK cities comparing favourably to other cities in the world where pollution is much worse.

Stewart Barnett, spokesman for InsureMy, said: "In the past, London would have probably been the worst city in the UK for air quality, but our data analysis suggests it has cleaner air than Bristol, Belfast and Manchester. Whether this is a result of the congestion charge and ULEZ having an impact is open to debate but, even so, the UK appears to have comparatively good air compared to other major capital cities.
"As specialists in caravan, campervan, motorhome and classic car insurance, air quality is very important to our customers, so we hope they will find this data useful as they start to plan their next trip."
In 2022 Lahore in Pakistan was the most polluted city in the world, while Paris and Rome were both more polluted than any major city in the UK list.
