New UK weather maps confirms near everywhere in England and Wales to get 25c heatwave

Unfortunately the summery weather won't extend to every corner of the UK.

England and Wales are set for a sweltering mid-September, with both of the Home Nations expected to bask in 20C+ conditions on September 9, 10, and 11.

However, the warm climes won't reach Scotland or Northern Ireland, with temperatures remaining in the teens for northern Brits.

Kent will see the hottest of the temperatures, with the mercury reaching a maximum of 26C on September 11.

On September 10, it appears that nearly every part of England and Wales will see the mercury above 20C.

Although some may think this is a heatwave, it's not markedly higher than normal temperatures in September and a heatwave requires a protracted period of above average weather.

According to the Met Office: "A heatwave is an extended period of hot weather relative to the expected conditions of the area at that time of year, which may be accompanied by high humidity.

"A UK heatwave threshold is met when a location records a period of at least three consecutive days with daily maximum temperatures meeting or exceeding the heatwave temperature threshold."
