Doctor Who stars fuel 'spoiler' rumours as they are photographed together
Doctor Who will return for its new series in May which will be Ncuti Gatwa's first full season in the titular role.
Doctor Who fans were left "delulu" about a character's return after Madip Gill posted a selfie with Anita Dobson. Mandip appeared in the long-running BBC sci-fi drama from 2018 until 2022 playing Yaz, one of the companions of Jodie Whittaker's incarnation of The Doctor.
Meanwhile, EastEnders legend Anita, who is married to Queen guitarist Brian May, appeared in the Christmas special as a mysterious character called Mrs Flood.
Mandip took to her Instagram to post a picture of the pair in her stories for her 128,000 followers. Instead of adding a caption she simply drew a white heart on the image.
The photo sees Anita wearing a hat and hairstyle similar to that sported by Mrs Flood leading a fan called @DanasBobby to comment on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Being delulu and saying we’re getting a Yaz cameo now." (sic) However, it appeared his remark was somewhat premature as another user with the handle @wattspanesar posted a link to a film called This Time Next Year.
"I fear it’s for this film they’re in together (but we can still be delulu)," they wrote. Both Mandip and Anita are listed as cast members in the film which is currently in post-production.
It stars Emily In Paris actor Lucien Laviscount as Quinn and The Trial of Christine Keeler's Sophie Cookson as Minnie.
They meet by chance and realise they were born in the same hospital on the same day, a minute apart, but their lives have gone in different directions since that day.
Mandip plays a character called Leila in the movie while Anita has been cast as Ms Mentis.
Doctor Who showrunner Russell T. Davis has confirmed that Anita's character will return to the show.

Speaking on Doctor Who: Unleashed, following the festive special, he teased: "Mrs Flood is a mysterious character. You will eventually find out more about her. She’s a slow burn, Mrs Flood. Who is Mrs Flood? Come back and find out!"
Anita chimed in: "Today what you see is a friendly neighbour. What the future may be, no one knows. Russell is writing it as we speak."
However, no return has been confirmed for Mandip and she is currently working on voicing a character on a new CBeebies animated comedy adventure series called Big Lizard.
Doctor Who is available to watch on the BBC iPlayer.
