ITV Coronation Street Carla and Bobby's lies unravel as Roy threatened in prison
Coronation Street's Bobby Crawford told a huge lie in a bid to get Roy Cropper out of prison - but now it comes back to haunt him.
Bobby Crawford is arrested in upcoming scenes of Coronation Street as his lies finally catch up with him.
In a bid to save Roy (played by David Neilson) from going down for Lauren's (Cait Fitton) murder, Bobby (Jack Carroll) gives a false statement to DS Swain (Vicky Myers). He claimed he saw a man wearing a balaclava leaving Lauren's flat and clarified that it was not Roy.
Bobby claimed the man threatened to kill Lauren if he ever revealed the truth about their interaction. He told the police: "He looked down at me and said if I told anyone I saw him, anyone, then Lauren was dead."
Although Carla (Alison King) initially disapproved, she determined they needed to do whatever they could to save Roy. Bobby's lie eventually got back to Roy, but he decided to keep quiet.
Around the same time, a prison officer discovered Roy collapsed on the floor of his cell. He was rushed to hospital for treatment and allowed visitors.
At the hospital, Carla visited him and thanked him for not telling the police about their lie. In the sad scenes, Roy reminded Carla that she made him complicit in the crime of lying to the police, on top of the charge he was facing for Lauren's murder.
Roy admitted he couldn't move past Carla's deceit and ended their friendship, leaving her devastated. Next week on the ITV soap, DS Swain probes Carla about why she's fallen out with Roy, but she shuts the conversation down.
