Tyson Fury's dad should be banned from Oleksandr Usyk fight after string of apologies
COLUMN: Tyson Fury's dad cannot be allowed to continue apologising
John Fury should never be allowed near a boxing fight again after he disgracefully headbutted a member of Oleksandr Usyk's team. It's not big and it's not hard to assault someone unprovoked and then scutter away behind his own allies, after only managing to cut himself.
Controversy sells fight but this was blatant thuggery. What else do you expect from someone who was locked up for gouging a man's eye out.
There is a reason the US won't let Tyson Fury's dad into their country. And the rest of the world ought to follow suit.
The WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF have every right to take action and keep him away from fight week. John Fury has said sorry, but he has sung this song countless times.
He apologised after knocking over a table and chairs during Tommy Fury and Jake Paul's press conference. He apologised for starting a fight at the KSI vs Tommy Fury face-off. And there were various brawls he has never apologised for. It's about time he was banned from these events for the safety of all concerned.
Raducanu French Open snub
It is incredible that the French Open snubbed Emma Raducanu and refused to give her a wildcard.
The Brit is still one of the most marketable athletes in the world and a recent grand slam champion.
She has also beaten five top 50 players this year and deserves to compete at Roland Garros.
McIlroy not written off
Don't expect Rory McIlroy's hopes of winning the PGA Championship to be dashed after filing for divorce from wife Erica Stoll.
The Brit ditched tennis star Carolina Wozniacki and called off the wedding on the eve of the 2014 PGA Championship - and he went on to win the title.
