Charles Leclerc left furious after Ferrari star lapped by Lewis Hamilton at British GP
Charles Leclerc was downbeat after enduring a miserable race at the British Grand Prix.
Charles Leclerc expressed his dismay after finishing a lap behind British Grand Prix winner Lewis Hamilton on Sunday. The Ferrari star was hung out to dry after a disastrous strategy call left him floundering on intermediate tyres in dry conditions.
The Monegasque driver is in the midst of a miserable run of form. Leclerc's home race victory had all the signs of a launching pad for a string of successful fights at the front.
However, the following four laps have been plagued with extreme strategy blunders and hampered by a sharp and unexpected fall-off relative to Red Bull, McLaren and Mercedes.

Leclerc's British GP weekend looked doomed from the start though. The Ferrari star was knocked out in Q2 on Saturday, finishing below a Haas and a Williams, and despite a strong launch, the Scuderia never looked able to challenge the pace of the top three teams.
Expressing his frustration after the race, he said: "I am not feeling good, it’s too much now. It’s too many races, I don't know what to say anymore when I come here."

Delving deeper into his strategy disaster, he noted: "[It was] clearly the wrong [strategy]. I'll look back into it. Obviously, with the decision, with the message I got and the information I had in the car, I felt like it was the right one.
"It was raining quite a lot in Turn 15. I was told that in this lap, the rain was going to be very heavy, so I stopped to try and anticipate.

"However, the rain came eight or nine laps later. That was obviously the end of our race from that moment onwards. Very frustrating, another weekend to forget, and it starts to be a lot.
"[This period] is very hard. I don't really have the words to explain it, but it's been four races that it's been worse than a nightmare. I hope we can come back soon."
Sunday's results mean that the 26-year-old is now 21 points behind Lando Norris in the battle for second place in the Constructors' Championship standings, while his team-mate Carlos Sainz is just four points further back.
