Liverpool have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Inter Milan striker Mateo Kovacic.
The Reds were thought to be closing in on a £17million move for the Inter Milan midfielder.
But Inter boss Roberto Mancini has ruled out a move for Kovacic and told Sky Sport Italia: "I think he will stay at Inter. I don’t think there is anything going on with him regarding a transfer.”

Brendan Rodgers has reportedly seen his hopes of signing Jackson Martinez evaporate.
The Porto hitman has also been linked to Arsenal.

But Portuguese paper A Bola claim AC Milan are prepared to pay his release clause and will offer him a four-year deal worth over £2m a year.
The Reds may have to wait another season to sign Alvaro Morata.

Morata has attracted interest from Arsenal and Manchester United, but Juventus chief Giuseppe Marotta expects Morata to stay another season.
He said: "Alvaro will continue at Juventus until at least 2016 and then we shall see."
